Northern Woodturners

At Northern Woodturners we are a friendly group of people who learn and promote the art and craft of woodturning, and train new woodturners.

Training Sessions

After the club's monthly meeting we occaisonaly run training sessions that are packed with information about techniques and ideas that may be of interest to our members.

We also run demonstrations and stream videos from time to time of skilled woodturners demonstrating techniques and alternative methods or new skills that aren't commonly known.  These sessions result in significant discussion about how to implement them in our own environment.

Become a Better Woodturner

Are you looking to improve your wood turning knowledge and skill?

Our members are willing to help you whatever your skill level or training needs, and we aim to develop a better understanding of wood turning, promote safe turning practices, and hone our skills.

Many of our members are experienced woodturners and they are happy to pass on their extensive knowledge and experience.

Getting Started

We can provide new turners with the information required to make informed decisions regarding the space and ventilation needed, as well as the equipment, tools, and supplies required to begin turning wood in your own home.

Library

We have a collection of books about woodturning techniques that are available for all of our members to use.

There is also extensive information on project ideas and how-to guides for individual projects.

Training Content

By arrangement instruction can be provided in one on one format to get you started or to address specific issues.

We strongly encourage new woodturners to also undertake some professional instruction and we can help source that for you.
