About Us
The Northern Woodturners Club was founded in 1992 and for the first 17 years of our operation we met in the Salvation Army Hall in Thornbury. In 2009 we moved to a former Scout Hall in Browning Street, Kingsbury and we have been located there ever since.
Aside from our weekly workshops, we also meet on the 3rd Saturday of the month at 9:00 AM where there is a short meeting followed by a show and tell session for those wishing to display their work. After morning tea we may have a speaker or some other activity.
Weekly workshops are held:
Tuesday evening 7:00 – 10:00 PM
Wednesday Morning 8:00 AM – Noon
Thursday evening 7:00 – 10:00 PM
At the club we have:
13 lathes
multiple chucks and related equipment
a variety of turning tools that you can use until you equip yourself
2 bandsaws
2 grinders
2 pedestal drills
polishers, sanding disc and assorted drills and other handtools
The club has a large collection of magazines, books and videos of woodturning techniques that are available for all of our members to use.
There is also extensive information on project ideas and how-to guides for individual projects that you can use to guide you in making new items.
